Heated mirrors?? 850

what would be quick way to check to see if the mirror is still good at the bone yard?? My driver side is shot, and fianlly moved to region where I am gonna need it. Also any specail tools/tips for removing from a junked car?? Am assuming any 850/S-V-70 will work on 95 850
