'93 850 transmission mystery 850 1993

I have a 93 850 that won't get out of winter mode. I want to know how to scan and clear codes. I have cleared all codes out of "A" box for ABS codes that is all my book has in it. I have changed the switch on top of the transmission and the arrow goes on correctly when put in winter mode and when shited to 3rd gear. when I shift it manually I know that 2nd works, reverse also works fine. I see on e-bay that a tranmission computer is for sale frequently. any info would be appreciated.
