My heater tube couplings are leaking (inside) this is the one that goes through the firewall.(engine side of at coupling OK/inside leaking where the outlet tube enters the coupling. I tried to reach up and seal with silicone from under the dash but it is very tight and hard to access. Has anyone changed one of these out? If so is there an easy way? the coupling must be removed from the inside. I can take 1/2 of the heater box off( holds heater core)> disconnect my heater tubes that enter the heater core, but after that I'm lost. The gas pedal seems to be in the way as well as a part of the heater that is in the back leaving little room to remove the coupling. >> looks like thick rubber insulation between the coupling and fire wall. I'm wondering if I cut the thick rubber>(to give me room to manuver>>> take the plate off on the engine side which holds the coupling in> where the heater hoses enter. If i may have room to angle the coupling to get it out without removing the entire dash and rest of heater box>> and of course angle a new one in. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. How is the gas pedal removed from the floor?
Thanks.
