cd changer V70-XC70

i have a '98 v70t5m the cd changer has quit working and EEE shows up on radio screenwhen i attempt to play.(individual cd works ok thanx to bay 13)is there a known fix? doncha know the local stereo shop sez i need a new unit but i know brickboarders are more clever than that.thanx
