cruise control 850 1997

My cruise control is not working, and so i took out the battery and battery tray. I noticed there was one tube/cable connected to it which runs back towards the cabin, but there was also this three pronged thingy (like an electrical connector) and nothing was connected to it. does anyone know what this thing is? Thanks in advance.
