Random stalling 850 1993

I'm having trouble with my beloved 850. It is stalling randomly, sometimes when driving at low speeds or waiting at a stop light (manual transmission)it will just completely lose engine power and all the dash lights go on...it only restarts after trying a couple of times. (I worry that I will flood when trying to restart). My mechanic changed the spark plugs and it seemed better for a few days and now is acting up again. Mileage is at 162,000 in my well-maintained sedan. Any suggestions?
