excess pedal travel 850 1995

Hi ,
Just had brake work done on my wife`s wagon recently. The MC was also replaced(OEM), work done by my local indie. She picked up the car, drove it for a few days during which the brakes were responsive as they should be. Gradually, there was more pedal travel, less braking response. We took it back in & the brakes were bled a second time. Same scenario; good for 3/4 days & then excess pedal travel. Reservoir is up to correct level. Could air somehow be getting past the piston?
Any thoughts on this problem? Sure don`t want my wife getting into a dangerous situation if brakes aren`t working properly.
Thanks,
Rich
