Stranded but not stranded 850 1995

My heart lept into my throat today. I was 20mi from home driving along a back road (in driving rain with deep puddles on the sides of the road). I slowed to turn around in a driveway, and as I shifted the transmission from D to 3 while going about 3mph I saw all the idiot lights come on (actually I don't think the CEL was on). As I shifted to park and readied to turn the ignition off, thinking about how I was ever going to get home, I looked down and noticed the idiot lights off. Surprised, I noticed the engine was still spinning. The radio was on so I didn't have sound as a clue. Relieved, I turned around and continued with no problems. I believe in shifting from D to 3 another time today the transmission momentarily downshifted further than 3 (1 or 2). I quickly shifted back to D and everything was fine. You may recall I had a problem downshifting from D to 3 a few weeks ago, causing the arrow to blink. I am wondering if my PNP is acting up. Any thoughts?
