A while back, I posted that the replacement bushing I installed two months prior had become loose in the housing. Upon removal, I could see that the plastic (teflon?) outer ring had become worn in the middle, allowing the bushing to move sideways.
I contacted www.importpartsspec.com, the vendor, who assured me that it had a one year warranty. We both agreed that the best course of action was to replace the whole mount with the new style housing and bushing. The new style housing, rather than a round hole, has a cross in it. The rubber bushing is also cross-shaped, and seems to be easily removed and installed by hand, since it has no hard outer perimeter - it is just rubber. While it does the job it was intended to do, it seems to have a lot of flex.
This item is aftermarket, made in Spain. I'm wondering if Volvo has gone to this cross-type bushing, or if it is the brainchild of an aftermarket manufacturer?
