passenger sun visor S40-V40 2000

The plastic housing on the arm that leads to the passenger sun visor is completely cracked and separated so that the visor can no longer be raised to its home position or be lowered. It merely hangs freely without any tension in the supporting arm and is totally not usable. We have it 'velcroed' to keep it secured.
Any suggestions about repairing; where to get a new visor; how to avoid paying a king's ransom at the dealers'?
