Spli-second hesitation during acceleration S60 2001

My car is a non-turbo S60 2.4 with manual transmission. The hesitation is just a split second during acceleration in second or third gear somewhere between 2500-3200 rpm; mostly, when driving up-hill. But never really repeatable.

The only thing I found out is that it is clearly temperature dependent: In "winter time" with temperatures below about 5 deg C, I can't reproduce the hesitation at all.

There has been posts about this in the past, but they all refer to auto-transmission.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dutch
