A bump when ther is no bump V70-XC70 2000

I have a 2000 V70 XC AWD SE. When I am driving on a perfectly smooth road, ocasionally it feels like the car is going over a small, quick bump. It seems to come from the rear. The car is in 4th gear at the time. What could it be? I don't want to take it to the dealership to have them start replacing parts.
