I am smelling the faint scent of antifreeze when I first start up in the morning. A tech friend of mine tells me it is probably the heater core. I understand that the area where aluminum core is "glued" to plastic is where it usually leaks. It is a slow leak now.
I just spent 2/3 of my annual 850 repair budget ($1000) on brakes and spring seats etc. I need to save up for this repair and the inevitable evaporator replacement in my future(ok for now-amazing as it sounds).
Can I replace my heater core at home, or is this, like the evaporator, better left to a tech?
