850 Turbo CD Changer 850

My new (to me) 1995 850 Turbo is a dream to drive and I'm very happy with it (until the repair bills start to come in???) I have a question about the Audio System. I don't know if the optional cd changer came with this car and since I live in brooklyn and the temperature has been in the teens, I haven't been over this car with a finetooth comb. All that said, I remember renting a VW once and the 5-cd changer was in the trunk. Can anybody tell me if this model's cd changer is somewhere NOT readily identifiable? Can anybody tell me, "Is there a way to find out if the model I bought came with the cd changer?"
