V70 or 850 wagon? V70-XC70 1999

I'm considering a second Volvo wagon and would like your advice on what to look out for. I have a 99 V70 and like it. It's my wife's daily driver. I don't need AWD and don't want the trouble or increased maintenance. A turbo would be nice, but I'm not sure I need one. Are they maintenance or service problems? I like my 5 speed automatic, Are they better or worse than the auto 4? When did Volvo start with them? I would consider an older 850 as long as it's as peppy as my V70. Give me your feedback please. What years and models to look for and what to LOK OUT for. Thanks.
