P0108 - Map Sensor 199 V70 V70-XC70

Hello again,

My last series of posts were riddled with inaccurate information, misinterpretations along with down right stupidity. Thought I'd give it a try again.

The P0108 Diagnostic code relates to the a malfunction with the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor circuit.

After being stupid (please don't bother reading the posts I started and filled, halfway down this page), I did find the unit clipped to the body just above the radiator and fed with a 6" long intact and operating vacuum line directly from the intake manifold. When I backprobed the three terminals, it had good ground, and good 5v input voltage, however when I backprobed the output voltage with the ignition on pos 11, I got about 1-1/2 v. With the engine idling, or with the engine racing, the output voltage never varied more than about 1/4v to 1.75v. Strangely, although P0108 code is read from the OBD2, it doesn't trigger the Check Engine Light.

I am assuming the MAP sensor is kaput, needing replacement. Any comments on my discussion, and in particular, where do I get one as I checked FCP and others to no avail.

Thanks for any help,

Marty Wolfson
