Power antenna mast removal S70 1998

I am trying to replace the antenna mast of the power antenna. How do I remove the old mast? After extending the old mast and removing the retaining nut, the old mast refused to budge. Do I try to pull it out with brute force or is there some other nut I have to undo?

Appreciate any help.
