v70 cruising RPM? V70-XC70 1998

Friends,
I purchased a 1998 v70 in the fall. I am still getting to know the car. The other day I was on the interstate and I noticed that my RPM at 70 mph was around 3000 rpm. Is that normal? My 240 does around 2500 rpm at the same speed and it has one less cylinder than the v70. Could this be an indication of a failed overdrive relay? Do they even exist in v70s? Any thoughts?
