Trouble starting after short trips 850 1994

After a short trip, like going to the store a mile or two away when I come back to the car it will not start. After cranking a few times and waiting 5 to 10 minutes the car will start and run fine.

The car has 139,000 miles, maintenance performed regularly. (3000 mile oil changes, etc.)

Can anyone advise on a solution? Le me know if more info is needed.
