Hi folks,

I'm a 240 kinda guy all the way, have three in the driveway at the moment, but my mother's looking for a new car and even though I've managed to convince her to look at Volvos, she wants something new-ish. She wants a wagon, and the XC V70 looks like some pretty good stuff.

Anyone and everyone who'd like to offer their opinions on the car as a whole - durability, comfort, power, general Volvoness - would be helping me and my mother out a lot as I've heard very little of these cars. Anything after the demise of the 240 doesn't interest me much, so I haven't kept abreast of current Volvo news and could use your opinions. She's looking at a 2001 with 70k miles I believe. Any bad years to watch out for? Anything you got, throw it at me, good, bad, or ugly.
