speedo assembly unit behind dash.... are they plug and play 850 1995

1995 850 GLT, 122,072 miles


My speedo assembly unit behind the dash keeps reverting back to kmh instead of mph. I want to replace it with used 1995 assemby that i might get from the junk yard. Are they just plug and play, or does the dealer have to do anything to it after I install it. I know the mileage will probably be off on the used unit, so I will just replace the wheel unit (where the odometer gear is) from my car how to the used unit.

The dealer wants over 1000 for a new unit.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
