Hey all -
I have 1998 V70R AWD, and it is exhibiting a few symptoms that may be related to each other, and may not be.
1. After sitting for a long time (8 hours or more), it makes a low groaning sound for abou the 1st quarter mile, then it goes away. The sound sounds like it is coming from the center of the car, but as always, it is hard to tell when you are driving. It does not sound like the car is in too much pain, it kind of sounds like a rubber part is rubbing against something, but again, hard to tell.
2. After a trip on the highway, the car will intermittantly *clunk* as I am turning a corner around 10-15 MPH. If I take corners very slow, it will never happen. The clunk is very reminiscent of the AW-71 first-second clunk that happens to so many RWD cars, including my 760. Sometimes it will happen, sometimes it won't.
3. After driving for a while, the car will begin to rumble when going around corners, feeling like it is maybe a loose driveshaft or something like that. Again, it is intermittent, and may happen ten times in a row, then not occur for a week before coming back again.
None of these symptoms feel like they are hurting the car to much, but I'd like to get them fixed, or hopefully fix them myself. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!
- Chris
