Clear square gaskets?

I pulled the fuel rail to remove the intake manifold. When I pulled the rail two of the injectors came out from the rail itself. I then noticed two square clear gaskets under where I was working. Where did these come from? Do these have to do with the injectors? Haynes makes no mention and I thought there was only an upper and lower gasket.
