location of 'superheat' compressor switch 850 1996

My son's 850 air conditioning exhibits problems that strongly suggests the superheat compressor switch is to blame, and I want to take it out of the circuit.

Is there anyone out there who has a photo of what this switch looks like just to make sure that I am looking at the right thing?

I have inspected the compressor, located the black wire coming out of the clutch, and followed it back to what appears to be a large black "button" attached to the left side of the compressor. The black wire then goes on to a resistor in the line attached to the right side of the compressor.

If no picture is available, is my description accurate of what I think is the switch? It's getting hotter and hotter here, and something needs to be done.

If this doesn't work, I'm going to check out the compressor clutch plate gap, but I'd like to see if this works first.

If anyone could help me out here, I and my son would be most grateful!
