97 850 non-turbo engine hesatation 850 1997

The wagon has 127,000 miles on it and the engine at idle or lower rpm's while driving hesatates for just a fration of a second sometimes - it could be once in a hour or several times within 5 mintues - it's totally random but seems to be getting worse. I have cleaned the throttle body and put a new air filter on with no change - any help would be great! Thanks Stephen
