As the subject line says, on really hot days the AC compressor shuts off, but on days when it's in the mid-80's or at night, the AC works great. Once the AC is shut down, it's gone for the duration of the drive, so as you might imagine, this makes for a very uncomfortable day. I remember hearing somewhere that there is a switch that shuts off the compressor when it overheats. Is that a possibility? Is the switch replacable, and/or can it be bypassed? Any warnings? We've had this car for 8 years, and this is an issue that's only cone up this season.
