Ok, after beign raised for the 1st 20 years of my ife with Volvo wagons (145's and 245's) I finally have the cahce to get a very well maintained 855 wagon.
it's fully loaded and was religioualy maintained with full synthetic fluids, premium gas, and no backyard mechanics, only dealer or other trained tech shop.
Currently I have a 97 Escort sedan...super durable but the struts will need replacement soon, as well as a few other odds and ends. It's fully loaded and everythign works perfectly...the repair costs are low, cheap to refule (esp with recent falling gas prices, and maintenance is a cinch!
Currently Ive been getting pretty bored with the Escort...it's just so plain and BORING! Sure the Volvo will need some work as it ages, and the parts are obviously more pricey, but I kinda like a challenge.
I also own a summer driven 88 325is. Thsi is also another one of my fave's due to it's durability, and ease of maintenance (obviously I'm a tinkerer).
Is this Volvo as reliable as those previous Volvo's? or can I expect a huge set or repair bills? The PO seem svery helpful and is throwing in a ton of extra parts (snow tires, Thue racks, and roof carrier too).
I like tinkering but I dont 'want a car that's gonna kill my social life cause I'm gonna be working on it in every spare moment.
thanks for the input guys!
