I'm experiencing a troubling problem with a recently aquired S60. After completing a cross country trip this summer, a noise developed in the drivers front wheel. It turned out to be a vey loose wheel. At least 3 bolts were only finger tight and the other 2 were not very tight. I initally thought I had not properly torqued the wheel when I rotated the tires prior to the trip. This morning I made a visual check of the same wheel and found 2 bolts had backed out again. This has me suspecting everything from a vandal in the neighborhood (not likely) to a misfit bolt. I tighten the bolts with an air wrench and a Snap-on torque stick calibrated to 85 ft-lbs. I've used this setup for many years on my 240's and 850.
Anyone with similar experience? My wife is ready to chain the dog to the door of the car overnight. I'm thinking something more mechanical. Thanks
