Congratulations to anyone who ever had any influence on the young lady I saw crawl out of the wreck yesteday near Wilmington,NC. Your input as to her using seatbelts saved her life and she is alive solely because of the decision to wear one yesterday. It also saved me from pulling another dead child from a survivable wreck or finding one outside the car after a rollover.
What looked like a car and Mother Earth having a terrible fight was actually an 18 year old female riding in a series of endos and roll overs, crossing the median barriers twice and laying upside down in a ditch with about 18' of water. When I got to the car she looked like a big otter coming out the front right hole where there used to be a window. She was terribly shaken and had her chimes rung no doubt by the tumbling. But she was alive and a most beautiful sight seeing her come out of that mess under her own power. There was no glass left in the car. She was contained by her seat belt and stayed inside the automobile and it protected her as designed. I saw it endo at least once and roll several times.
Not until I was walking back to my car after the Highway Patrol and Medics had arrived did I look back at the girl just for one more look at a very lucky lady did I see the type of car.
Volvo 60.
Buckle up friends.
