s70 tourque converter S70 2000

Hello,
My 2000 s70 GLT is now making a shutter feeling right at 55 mph when the car shifts into high gear. It only does it when you accelerate smoothly. If you punch it, it will not shutter on shifting. The steering wheel vibrates and the car shutters for about 1/2 second. I was told by a generic mechanic it is probably the torque converter going bad! The car only has 62,000 miles. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, best place to buy a new converter without dipping into the kids college fund? Thanks
