So,
envision the space between the door and the body of the car, where the hinge is. Where the hinge enters the actual body of the car, it is encased by a small bandaid sized patch of welded metal. Well, that small pie tin thin piece of metal seems to have broken along the weld, as a result, every time i open my door it makes an incredibly loud and annoying POPPING sound, it does it a two specific places along the action of the door (opening or closing). My mechanic, who is great, said it would cost about 200 bucks to fix, though the actual weld will only cost like 10 bucks, the 200 is the labor to take the door off.
Do i have any recourse other than this 200 dollar expense, cant i just beat the hell out of it with a long screwdriver or something (though i am worried that if i leave the hole there water will get in a cause major problems)
HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM, IF SO, WHAT DID YOU DO.
I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE.
--Shouldnt volvo pay for this, this is 100% manufacture defect, i mean who sells cars for 45k that have shoddy welds?
Again,
Muchas gracias!
