Plugging fuel lines when changing fuel filter 850 1996

I'm getting ready to change the fuel filter on Arabella, our 1996 850, and am wondering if anyone knows the inner diameter of the fuel lines, or has any good suggestions for what to plug them with when I've got them off the filter. I get tired of getting covered in gasoline when switching filters.
