My 1997 850 T5 engine stalls intermittently while coasting to a stop. I think the auto transmission remains stuck at a higher gear. The engine usually stalls after a long drive. To remedy the stall, I usually put the gear into neutral when the engines starts to hesistate. I then put the gear back into drive and it shifts ok after that. Shifting upwards is also a bit jerky. Any ideas as to what is contributing to the gear lock-up and eninge stall?
