clunk in rear V70-XC70 1998

I've just bought my second xc70. First one was great but the second has a clunk in the rearend. If I let off the gas at 65mph then step on the gas again there is a very ditinctive clunk that can be heard and felt coming from the rearend of the car. Been told that it is the viscous clutch by one place and that it's a diff mount by another. Any ideas. Thanks
