I bought a 94 850 with a few problems for a good price. I fixed the odometer and I replaced the radiator. The big problem is the transmission, let me describe.

Sometimes the tranny works fine. Sometimes the tranny arrow starts flashing and the tranny jumps in and out of gear. The code indicates a loss of speed signal. I replaced the instrument cluster which worked for 20 minutes. Then I spliced in replacement connectors one at a time and the problem went away when I replaced the second connector (the small one which has no tranny related signals). The problem came back a few days later. The other problem is that I can't reset the code in the transmission computer.

Are these symptoms consistent with PNP troubles? The car has 120K miles. I really thought the problem was with the instrument cluster because if I pulled on the back of the cluster during failures the problem seemed to go away. If I do replace the PNP, where should I get the alignment tool?
