Shimmy / vibration at highway speeds 850 1997

Hi,

My wagon has done this for a long time, but it's getting worse, so I'd like to get to the bottom of it. The vehicle vibrates/shakes when driving > 55 mph, and it gets gradually worse with increased speed.

There's barely any vibration in the steering wheel. Actually, the vibration is barely noticable to the driver. It's very noticable in the passenger seat, and really annoying when sitting in the center of the back seat.

I have had the wheels balanced on one occasion, and put new tires in front on a different occasion, but that did not eliminate the problem. I have had the front brakes/calipers checked to make sure nothing's sticking.

What are the most likely causes? I suspect a worn part in the front end, but where to look first?

Thanks in advance!
