Currently driving an '01 XC with 120k. Have already replaced the three engine mounts, cat. converter as well as usual maintenance wear & tear items. Now told need new belts (were replaced at 70k), axle needs to be rebuilt and tires (total cash and prizes about $1500).

I know from this boiard and COnsumers that this model year is a headache. Question is, I've heard that newer ('04+) V70s are much more reliable. Is this true?

Any and all ideas welcome. Thanks!
