We've got 25° F and about an inch of sleet already accumulated and more falling
fast. The dog had an abcess on her tail and we had an appointment with the Vet
today - they called and asked us to come early if we could. I had already been
warming the car up (oudoors) and had got the windshield and back window warm
but on the way up there the wiper blades accumulated so much ice that they didn't
wipe at all, just slid over the warm windshield. When the blades are at rest,
the ends of the blades are NOT on the heated part of the windshield so with the
sleet falling fast, they just accumulate more and more ice and are jacked up
further and further from the glass, making it VERY hard to see ahead. Side
windows are quite clear, and back window is not bad.
Do you guys who live in really cold climates have this problem? What do you do about it? It is almost better running without the wipers!
