Stuck fuel filler door V70-XC70 2001

Just went to fill up the wife's V70 and could not get the fuel filler door open. Tried locking and unlocking the car with the key, remote, and switch on drivers door with no luck. Checked the fuel filler door lock fuse and it was also OK.

Is there a manual release cable to open the door? Our 850 had a cable release inside the trunk and I looked in the cargo area but found nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.
