recently bought a good-looking wagon. drove to beach ⎘ hours]...drove for a week...drove home...then, it died while driving. replaced fuel pump relay switch. drove 2 weeks, died again. No codes were stored and no lights on. Vehicle started up, but "jerked" frequently as though it was losing fuel. this time we tried the 90K tune up which gave a thorough "cleaning". drove to N.C. for Thanksgiving and ran great. Coming home, vehicle jerked on every incline when "load" on engine changed. Not a transmission issue, it's losing fuel. No codes are stored. Possible fuel pump replacement will be $1500.00! with no guarantee that it will fix it. I trust the mechanic who services our 1989 240 model. He is not confident of the fuel pump issue and is recommending not to waste our money. Any ideas? We like the car, but selling it will cost us a fortune. Keeping it is foolish. Help!!!
