blinking orange arrow 850 1994

1994 850, traction control was on and transmission was downshifted into 2nd. The orange arrow started blinking and didnt go off. Car drove sluggishly for awhile, was shut off then re-started and seemed to fun fine. What could the problem be and is it safe to drive the car with the light blinking.
