Engine stabilizer mount S60 2001

A couple of months ago, I started noticing an unusual resonance in the car (manual transmission) right around 2000 rpm, regardless of what gear it was in. It has worsened a bit, and even my wife noticed it. I checked the top mount today, and sure enough, it's breaking down.

My questions:

1. Would the polyurethane mount from IPD allow a similar resonance, or would it simply cause a bit more vibration at idle?

2. The car has about 66,000 miles on it. Is it likely that the lower front mount is going too? If so, is the OEM mount the best option?
