I have a 2003 V70 with 57K on it - owned it for just about 5 months. Had it thoroughly reviewed by an excellent mechanic before purchase. Have loved the car so far. But there a screechy noise that is coming from the heater fan motor. Comes and goes - mostly goes away as it warms up. I called in for a service appointment and mechanic thought the heater is probably going. Isn't that unusual at this low mileage? We're headed into the below zeros here in Minnesota so don't want it to die on me.
Also, the car seemed very tight when I bought it. But when I go over bumps, it's pretty noisy and takes the bumps pretty hard. Seems like it's loosened up since purchase. Ideas on troubleshooting?
KlausC - if you're there... I never thanked you for all your excellent advice on my 1996 850 (177K+ miles) that needed so much work last October. I ended up just not trusting the car and traded it in on this 2003 V70. A little fancy for me and now I have a car payment, but I'm hoping it will be an economical car for me. Again... thanks.
