So the time has come to get some track time with the old guy, 96 GLT with 5 speed, stock. The Idea is to take out all the seats except for the drive seat. The door panels, carpet, noise reduction crap, trunk carpet, spare tire, basicly everything in the interior except the dash (to much crap to remove). Any ideas on weight lost? Anything else I should take out? The car needs to be street legal and none of this can be pernament (I'm really handy with the know how, and I have Plenty of time on my hands). Also, problems with a stock 850 on the track? I know the brakes are strong as hell, but I think fade might be a problem, I changed the fluid, guess it's the best I can do for that (and on my current budget, 0). Suspension, stock, just going to have to deal with the fact that it is going to "roll" around the corners. Engine, Trans? Unbreakable (it's a Volvo). Speed? well there are probably going to be everything from civics to EVOs. This car stock can take all of the lightly modified civics and Eclipses (personal experiences) and besides this is a open track day, not a race, so not really worried about being the fastest thing out there (even though it does piss them off when they get passed by a Volvo). Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Blake
