Folks,

My 95-850 NA has developed an exhaust leak just at the rear end of the cat. It looks like the exhaust pipe has pulled part way out of the cat. I can hear the gas escaping there and the codes associated to the rear HO2S are set. The O2 sensor is evidently not getting all of the exhaust flow any more.

The system is original, but is solid everywhere I can reach to check. Some time ago the car was rearended and the tail pipe got bent - so the whole system might have got jostled fairly hard.

I'm thinking a clamp or retainer that was holding the exhaust pipe in is missing or fell off.

Is there anyone who has looked closely at their cat and rear 02 sensor and can tell me how the exhaust pipe is normally held in?
