Do SC-815 and SC-816 come amplified? 850 1996

I felt lazy so I went to Best Buy to pick up a head unit capable of reading mp3's, the guys said I'd have to replace all the speakers (which are square?) and re-wire the entire system since it is most likely amplified.

I've installed head units in my 240's but this is my first 850. I don't believe them when they say it's amplified because I can't find an amp anywhere in the car - does anyone know? I think I'll install the unit myself (as I've done in the past) because everytime I go to any kind of shop I get an outrageous quote.
