S70 non-turbo exhaust upgrade S70 2000

I have a 2000, S70, 5-speed, non-turbo car. I have been looking at putting a new sportier exhaust system on it, however, I wanted to hear some suggestions first.

My first issue is, since it is non-turbo, is there any purpose in putting a bigger pipe from cat-back? It seems it would serve no purpose.

Secondly, does anyone know the diameter of the stock exhaust?

And if i should put 2.5" or 3" pipe cat back what are some suggestions, I want a nice sound that is low cost (don't we all...). I'm just looking for potential websites that seem to offer great deals on good exhaust systems. If it is useless to put bigger pipe on, where are some good places to look of a sportier muffler.

I really don't want a system that will make me go deaf faster, just one that will give a very nice sporty sound to my car.
