Rubbing Sound at lock out S80

My '01 S80 has a sound from the front when at extreme turn out, both left and right, but more frequent and more pronounced at left. The sound actually doesn't appear until beginning to come back from the extreme turn out position.

It has been suggested that it could be that the turn out bump stops could be worn enough to allow the wheels to be rubbing.

Has anyone had this problem, and how did you address it? Is is a DIY repair?
