Front brake rattle S60 2003

'03 S60 AWD 67,000
Recently replaced front pads with Volvo pads. Change was uneventful, but I now have a rattle from the outside pad that has a bit of play . The caliper is tighted properly, but I notice that the outside of the caliper can be moved about a sixteenth of an inch despite being tight on the inside. No problems when stopping, brakes work perfectly, rotors are fine. Did I miss a spacer somewhere when I replaced the pads? The caliper springs, by the way, appear to be fine.
