After my 2000 V70 XC has sat for an evening, I always notice that the steering wheel rubs or squeaks when I first start driving it in the morning. It sounds like a rubber on rubber or perhaps rubber on plastic kind of sound.

Strangely, once I drive it, turning the wheel a few times, the noise goes away never to be heard again until the next morning.

There is a rubber boot in the floor plan that I replaced several months back but that doesn't appear to be the issue.

I wonder if any of the members have had this problem and solved it?
